The 2009 Global
Enterprise Challenge
Will be held in Auckland at the campus of Massey University in
Albany, and will begin officially on the Saturday morning 21st June
and conclude on Monday afternoon 23rd June.

Eighty Lion Foundation Young Enterprise Scheme students will
compete over two days for the right to represent New Zealand in the
international 24 hour competition. Forty students will be selected
as hosts from the North Shore and Central Auckland, and another
forty will be selected from through New Zealand to travel to
Auckland to join the event.
Southland is invited to select 2 Lion Foundation
Young Enterprise students to represent as at the 2009 Global
Enterprise Challenge.
The Airfares and all bookings are arranged and paid for by the
Enterprise NZ Trust.
The students will arrive Saturday 20th June 2009 and will be
divided into ten teams of eight, and each team will be allocated a
corporate host who will guide and mentor the team over the course
of the programme.
On Sunday 21st the teams will walk through the business planning
process by undertaking a New Zealand Challenge. This will enable
them to get to know each other, to assess their strengths and to
practice the problem solving approach.
Each team will make a three minute presentation to a panel of
judges and, later on that Monday afternoon, the winning team will
represent New Zealand in the international competition.
New Zealand will present via video to the international challenge
in Scotland at 8 pm Monday, with all international challenges being
streamed from 11pm.
The International winners will be announced on live stream Monday
22nd at midnight.
The Global Enterprise Challenge will conclude with students
departing Tuesday morning.

Enterprise New Zealand Trust will make travel arrangements to
get Students to and from the Auckland airport. While they are in
Auckland the out of town students will be billeted with North Shore
and Auckland Central students and we expect that they will be
picked up at the airport by their host families on the
Friday.
On the Monday they will, after the final Farewell function, be
transported back to the bus station and airport by bus to catch
their respective buses or planes home.
