2008 Global Challenge
After the PM Helen Clark opened the event they got straight into a practice challenge. Team work was very important because they had limited time to create an idea and develop a prototype of a product that ‘gained international funds’. The teams had to consider things such as petrol prices, the environment and our natural resources.
On Sunday morning it was the real thing. The corporate hosts took the teams to their offices and looked after them as they tried to solve ‘the problem of the worlds dwindling water resources’.
Melissa Eade’s team PKF won the NZ challenge and the right to represent NZ to the Global Challenge. The challenge was broadcast to Australia with other challenges from throughout the world and judged by NASSA – The result New Zealand.
