Mid Year Presentations & Oral Awards '06
Thursday 18th May saw around ninety people gathered at Stairs
Function Centre, for this years Young Enterprise Business Planning
Oral Presentations, and Trade Display Stands. We had four companies
from the 8 registered for the year who participated in the evening.
The display stands were each of high standard which made judging
for the award quite difficult!
Each company delivered their business plans with excellence,
they had also produced power point shows to support their
presentations.
The four companies competing were, 'Jalar' from Aurora College
with their personalised iSockees (to keep your iPod battery warm),
'Hot Dogs' from James Hargest College with doggie jackets, whether
your dog is rough and rugged or dainty there is a style to suit,
Pantz from Southland Girls High School with their gym pants that
keep you dry, while you sweat out your frustrations at the gym
after a hard days work, and Dulzura Truffles the gluten free
chocolate that everybody loves.
After the presentations, Donna Dentice CEO of Enterprise Trust,
talked about the NCEA Credits available through this program and
explained how it plays an important part of the education process,
inspiring everyone to reach further and strive for their goals.
Donna also explained in detail this years Global Challenge. A
very exciting opportunity for students to represent NZ, this year
Southland has been very privileged, we have four students going to
Auckland to participate with 76 other students from around the
country and see if we can win back the Global Challenge. NZ has won
three times out of six so far.
