Dragon’s Den with Trade Stand and Mid Year Awards

The 2011 Southland Young Enterprise Trust Dragon’s Den with Trade Stand and Mid Year Awards evening was held on Wednesday, 11 May at Elmwood Gardens, Invercargill.

The evening continues to grow and this year the Southland Chamber of Commerce hosted 16 Southland Young Enterprise teams representing Southland Girls’ High School, James Hargest College, Aurora College, Verdon College, Aparima College and Fiordland College. Six teams from Mt Aspiring also competed in a Dragons Den in Queenstown on Monday 9 May

The evening commenced with Trade Stand displays. This was an opportunity for students to launch their business and present to guests their new products and services. Congratulations to Bush to BBQ for taking out the award for the Best Trade Stand.

This year’s we were treated to a range of high-quality presentations as students made their business pitch to our four “Dragon’s”. With $800 and a range of Awards available to the best pitches, the standard was very high and competitive.
