2011 YES Examination Registrations are open

(exams are held at the students school)
This is the only event that YES Directors take part in as
individuals.
The exam takes 1.5hrs and consists of four compulsory
questions.
The YES teacher at the students school, will have the chance to be
given training in any changes to the exam questions but the
question topics include:
=Business Planning,
=Leadership,
=Managing Resource,
=Innovation & Enterprise.
The Student receive the case study at the start of term three,
several weeks before the actual exam, so they can study the case
along with fellow directors, the teacher and mentor.
The students are provided with a skills list and they can take the
Case study into the exam.
The Case Study and the exam are set and marked by the Auckland
University of Technology.
There are three grades of passing:
aAchieve (50-67marks),
aMerit (68-79 marks)
aExcellence (80+marks)
YE Certificate
Level 3 - 24 credit equivalents
This certificate has gained course approval by NZQA.
It is a Qualification, and no grades are awarded with the
qualification.
To gain the certificate, the Young Enterprise student
must:
- Complete the course requirements
- Student Review of Personal Contribution
(2 times during the year)
- Student Evidence of YES Activities and Events
(2 times during the year)
- Pass the Young Enterprise Examination.

New Zealand Vice-Chancellors' Committee:
Students who have gained literacy and
numeracy and 14 level 3 credits in each of two approved subjects
may be considered to have reached the university entrance standard
and be admitted ad eundem statum at
entrance level if they have in addition, either:
- Completed the YES Certificate, or
- Completed only the course requirements of the YES Certificate
(worth 10 level 3 credits equivalent to NZIM paper 836)
and gained at least 4 further credits at level 3 or higher
from the National Qualifications Framework, or a pass in another
NZIM paper (worth 10 credits).
NCEA credit inclusion
The following Young Enterprise assessment tools and
qualifications are available for credit inclusion to NCEA.
- YE Certificate - level 3, 24 credit
equivalents
- YE Exam - level 3, 14 credit equivalents
- YE Course Requirements - level 3, 10 credit
equivalents
These three qualifications can all be acquired separately and
counted towards NCEA in different years. For example, a student can
participate in the Lion Foundation Young Enterprise Scheme in 2010,
pass the YE Exam and fulfil the YE Course requirements in that
year, and count the YE Course Requirements for NCEA in 2010 and the
YE Exam for NCEA in 2011.

The Lion Foundation Scholarship
Offered to the student who gains the top NZ examination mark.
The value of this scholarship is $2500 to be used for a learning
activity approved by the Lion Foundation Trust and Enterprise New
Zealand Trust. |

Todd Corporation Ltd Scholarship for Leadership.
This is awarded to the student achieving the best results in the
leadership section of the exam. The value is $500. |
