A bubbly Sales and Marketing Director of 2005 Southland Girls team "Sting Sensation". Renee was able to promote her passion for being a Southlander by creating a children's story book based on the Southern Sting netball team. A local artist drew to cartoon characters for for each team member and the Sting Sensation wrote the story. Renee saw problems as opportunities and was able to negotiate rights off Netball New Zealand to be able to use people in their franchise. In researching the costs to produce the books there was a small increase between producing 200 and 5,000 books. Therefore they went with the 5,000, targeting every primary school child in Southland. As one of the two presenters for Sting Sensation at the Nationals, Renee was able to charm the judges by showing how they were different than anyone else. This included as many "Rrrrr" words in the opening couple of minutes and flashing her school's unique Red shoes. At the end of 2005, Renee applied and received a $3,000 scholarship offered by Otago University targeting YES students going to Otago. She is currently studying at Unicol in Invercargill starting her BCom in Marketing and Management.
