E day 09
As the global economic woes worsened……..Friday Feb
27th saw two meetings that held potential to point NZ in the right
direction
In Auckland, the Jobs Summit started the grey matter moving
where Government, business leaders and unions listened and
workshoped for answers but...
 |
In the deep south, at the Invercargill Working Men's Club the
Southland Regional Lion Foundation Young Enterprise entrants for
2009, got on with the action of starting into business. |
Here in Southland a room full of enthusiastic teens were planning?
|
85 students from 6 schools and representing 9
proposed companies went about setting up a company, looking at
choosing Directorship roles, Communication, Finance, Production,
and Marketing….. and of course, mulling over options for each
groups chosen product or service… all intended to generate their
small fortune!
|
 |
Rather than a daunting prospect, the enthusiasm (and sporadic
confusion!) showed that the meeting was opening some brand new
doors, to some bright new ideas for many of the students
present.
| The Lion Foundation Young Enterprise Scheme is into it’s 19th
year and Robyn Borne the National Director was in town for this
years E Day Briefing for teams and covered a lot of ground in the
time allowed. |
 |
Each group then spent some time brainstorming product concepts
of products and service ideas and then moved around the experts and
mentors that were on hand to discuss Design, Accounting, Marketing,
Communications and other challenges for the road ahead, as they
develop the ideas through to production and sales.
