The 2009 Southland Young Enterprise mid year awards were held
June 25 at the Invercargill Workingmen’s Club.
Over 90 students, parents, teachers and supporters gathered for the
product displays oral presentations and awards.
The evening commenced at 6:30 with 5 companies presenting their
wares and through their displays, making sales and contacts, these
stands were also judged for an award. |
| The formal proceedings started with a presentation from Anna
McDonald (SGHS) and Anna Goble (JHC) who had just returned as the
Southland representatives to Global Challenge in Auckland They
informed the audience on the highlights of the training days and
the world competition. |

The Oral presentations were made by 5 companies from 4 of the
schools involved in the 2009 programme. They described their
business and marketing plans and introduced their product launch.
This was judged by a panel for the ‘Best Oral Business Plan
presentation award’.

After the company presentations the judges made their decisions
while those present had supper and then reconvened for the mid year
