Enterprise Recruitment BA5 June Tuesday 22nd 2005
The BA5 for June was held at the offices of Enterprise Recruitment, 55 Esk Street.
Lynda White (Branch manager), Warwick Neutze, Jo Kemp and Claire van Eeden, presented to the members the benefits of making use of an employment agency when recruiting staff.
Enterprise Invercargill has become a significant employer in Southland during the past 2 years filling more than 1000 temp assignments in industrial and commercial roles. Enterprise has also successfully sourced and placed 120+ Permanent Staff with its clients in all industries.
Enterprise highlighted the benefits of using temps especially in the seasonal areas of employment. Enterprise act as the employer covering all the aspects of payroll - PAYE, ACC, deductions, holiday pay etc, and with all
the changes to employment conditions that continue to happen, having someone else taking care of the above certainly makes for an attractive alternative. Temps also allow the flexibility of ‘try before you buy’. We have all made bad judgements when hiring staff which can be costly and damaging to your business. By hiring a temp you have the option of saying ‘this person isn’t working out’ and Enterprise can cancel the temp’s assignment and have someone else lined up for replacement. By hiring a temp through Enterprise you also have the benefit of being guaranteed a replacement if the employee becomes sick or injured.
When looking to fill a vacancy, Enterprise can go through the whole process of staff recruitment. They will come to you to ascertain what skills the applicant will need to have and begin the process of recruiting. Not only can they provide their own data base of prospective applicants, they will advertise, process the applications, interview, screen and give you a choice of a select few who they would recommend for the position. The final choice is still up to you the employer, but at this stage, you are only seeing people who are equipped to fill the position. You are not wasting your own time sorting through unsuitable applicants. They will also do the follow through to unsuccessful applicants.
