Business House Golf - Friday 4th March 2005
The Eastern Southland Committee again played host to some of the province’s finest golfers, (at least that’s what they were telling us by the end of the night) at its annual Business House Golf Competition on Friday, 4th March. 16 teams from around the south did their best Tiger and Vijay impersonations - some with more success than others. Ironically it was the Police who 'burgled' the course to take away the ABN Amro Craigs’ sponsored trophy from Hokonui Gold’s B Team (or should that have been A team) and Westpac in third. Liquorland finished fourth with Hokonui Gold A (or perhaps it was B) in fifth. A special mention should be made of this year’s 'Country Rovers' award winners, Southland Finance who took out the award for most golf. The Chamber would again like to pay tribute to Julian Morris for his faultless organisation of another successful day and to the Mataura Licensing Trust for its wonderful support.
