Education Links to business.Sponsored by Venture Southland, Southland Institute of Technology and New Zealand Trade & Enterprise, the event attracted 120 attendees from the business and education sectors. This was held prior to the Young Enterprise Mid Year oral awards so as to encourage the attendees to stay on and see the presentations. Throughout the event the Y.E.S students held an expo show case of their business products, 8 of the 10 school business were present selling and taking orders. Refreshments were had during the showcase, followed by presentations from Enterprise New Zealand Trust, Venture Southland, Southland Institute of Technology and the Chamber on education programmes and the benefits that business can expect when they get involved in assisting and working with the students in on the job work. Enterprise New Zealand Trust demonstrated the Prep, ESP, and FED schemes, Venture Southland outlined the ‘Innovation for interaction’ project; SIT presented the Incubator programme and the Chamber the Young Enterprise Scheme.
