Chamber Southland moved into its new office Tuesday October 16th 2007
Branded The Business Centre to incorporate the Southland Chamber of Commerce, Otago Southland Employers Association and the New Zealand Institute of Management, the offices
were officially opened by the Hon Lianne Dalzell, Minister of Commerce and Small Business on Tuesday 16th October 2007. The Business Centre brings together the advantages of the three business organisations in a ‘One Stop Shop’(pictured: vice President Dave Rohan receiving the commemoration plaque from Hon Lianne Dalzell.)
The Chamber of Commerce has been an icon of Southland businesses for the last 144 years. In 1863 in the offices of
Mr Calder also became a member of the first provincial government before being made the Invercargill Member for Parliament from 1871 – 1873. Over 70 people gathered to celebrate yet another milestone in the history of the Chamber.
Chamber C.E.O Richard Hay spoke about the ‘Business Centre’ Concept and welcomed OSEA and NZIM South to the office network
The ‘Business Centre’ has long been the brainchild of Chamber C.E.O Richard Hay, who was commended for his foresight and vision. The new offices include an interview room which is available to members for off-site interviews or meetings and a well resourced training room which is also available for hire.
