ABN AMRO Craigs
ABN AMRO Craigs hosted the second BA5 for 2008 on the topic of ‘Creating Relevance for NZX in the New Zealand Financial markets’. For those of you who thought it would be a dry, uninspiring evening, the opposite was true, and those present were privy to a most interesting presentation on the position of the NZX in the financial landscape.
 | Geoff Brown, NZX Products Group Manager fronted the evening. |
He covered the Role of an Exchange,i.e.
a) in the Primary Market the Exchange provides organizations with access to capital, thereby providing capital to grow
b) in the Secondary Market, providing transparent price discovery and liquidity – creating the ability to trade.
c) in a Regulatory/Supervisory role, protecting investors and maintaining market confidence.
The purpose of the NZX is to assist in the transformation of New Zealand’s economy, and to work towards a globally connected and innovative marketplace that all New Zealand companies and individuals can participate in, prosper from and trust.
Geoff has had over 20 years stockbroking in New Zealand, USA and the UK and he has unrivalled expertise in equities market development, retail and institutional investment strategy and trading.
