There was a festive air of conviviality as a crowd gathered to
celebrate with Dave McKissock and his team, the opening of their
new premises the ‘Career Centre’ in Yarrow Street.
The Hon Eric Roy commended the vision of Southern Directionz and
considered it

to be a valuable asset to Southland’s community and officially
opened the new premises.
Established in March 2005, Southern Directionz plays an integral
part in linking education, employment and business.Their byline
“Providing Quality & Professional Career Service that makes a
difference” is borne out by the extent of services they offer.
| Working with students through to workers who have been made
redundant, they offer a comprehensive programme of
career/vocational services, professional development planning,
career analysis, productivity assessments, motivational and goal
setting, career advancement, employment and recruitment assistance,
to name but a few of the areas available. |

In addition, they have good displays of resources available from
providers outside Southland that may well be worth
considering.

After the opening the evening continued with networking and the
lucky prize draw.
Malcolm Jones (Central Southland College) won a career consultation
and Bryan Jones (Southern Wings) won a bottle of wine. |
It is worth a visit to these premises to talk with Dave, Dionne
