Gore Babble
BREAKFAST BUSSINESS BABBLE
26th March 2009 Eastern Southland
A positive interest from the invitations resulted in a full
house of 30 people attending the Breakfast held at The Old
Post.
It was great to see people were keen to attend, some making a
half hour trip, even though it started before the sun was up. The
smell of a cooked breakfast seemed to raise the spirits of those
finding the early start challenging.
 |
The morning kicked off with John Wilson, Chairman of the
Eastern Southland Chamber of Commerce speaking about the Chamber
and what it can offer businesses. He also briefed us about the
concept of the Breakfast Babble. Outlining that is an opportunity
where like minded people can come to network and hear different
speakers. |
Everyone seemed to enjoy the social aspect of the morning. It was
great to see people new to the area and also new to business.
 |
Once the hum of socializing and dining died down it was Mayor
Tracy Hicks turn to speak. He gave us an overview of where he see’s
Southland, more so Gore, economically and where we need to head to
retain and build our economy. |
From the mood in the air I gather that people have walked away
today with something to think about, which is always a great way to
start the day.
