Approximately 80 Chamber Of Commerce members and guests attended
the Harrex Group BA5 in November 2009 and were treated to a behind
the scenes look Harrex's operation in their premises on Yarrow st.
Food for the evening was provided through EAT of Windsor and
certainly set the scene well for |
Brendan Harrex and Tony Cole to speak on the Harrex philosophy of
client / accountant relationships.
Brendan spoke of his earlier times in the profession and from
that, identifying aspects he’d control differently under his own
business model. In only 2 and a half years since it’s inception
Harrex Group have doubled their staff count and operate offices in
Invercargill and Gore.
Guests were able to develop a feel for the approach Harrex Group
have to their clients business. Not just a case of “doing the
accounts” Harrex Group will involve themselves in plans for growth,
strategic outcomes and profitability and of course also look to how
that business model fits with the lifestyles of the clients.
On the face, this sounds a logical approach, but is in fact unique
to the Harrex Group in many ways.

Tony Cole addressed guests on some finer points of setting up the
initial relationship with clients and went on to speak about some
of the products and systems used to track and guide those plans on
a day to day basis.
A lively question and answer session followed, notable for the
fact that guests were eager to relate what they’d heard to their
own situation. A very informative, relaxed and interesting session
for everyone present.

The Chamber would like to pass particular thanks to Brendan,
Tony, Nicky and Heather for the seamless organisation for this BA5
event.
