Rodney Hide Shoots the Breeze
on Tree’s, Fees and Red Tape for SME’s …..
11 August
2009
Chamber members took the chance to meet at lunch with the Hon
Rodney Hide, Minister for Local Government - Minister for
Regulatory Reform and Associate Minister of Commerce.
He pulled no punchers on his intentions around Local Government
reforms, RMA and the need for change in order to re-simulate the
economy.
He put blame on to badly thought-out legislation from Central
Government but also on interpretation and the over zealous nature
of Local Governments who take the attitude of heavy
handedness. |
 |
Guests were able to question the Ministers views on his campaign
to eradicate much of the red tape and outmoded systems that
currently hinder the RMA and SMEs.
Mr Hyde also talked about other interests such as the Auckland
Super City.
Thanks to the Kelvin Hotel for the use of the Conference
Facilities.
