Itic Design
June 2009
The warm interior lighting from within Itic Designs new
premises, on Medway Street, was very inviting and hard to resist on
another cool Southland winter night.
The newly decorated premises saw about 40 people for what would be
a very informative and inspirational evening.
| John Wilson, Eastern Committee Chairman, began the evening by
explaining how the Chamber was wanting to promote the ‘Behind the
Scenes’ evenings as an inventive way to educate others about their
business. Itic Design’s Founder, Melanie Craig, then verbally
walked everyone through her journey over the past four years giving
us an insight into her vision, passion and design philosophy. She
explained the changing trend of interior design and how important,
now more than ever, it is to consult with a professional when
embarking on your renovation or new abode project. |
 |
Gayna, Itic’s other partner, went on to explain the concept of the
design studio and showroom.
The unique way the evening was run proved how innovative and
forward thinking these two women are.
They had Caroline Carter from ‘The Culinary Herb Company’ perform a
live demonstration in their fully workable kitchen creating a fresh
pesto which was then shared around for everyone to try.
Tom Jones, who is the mastermind behind ‘Green Man Beer’ challenged
everyone’s taste bud’s throughout the evening with his authentic
organic beers.
Then to polish the evening off ‘The Seriously Good Chocolate
Company’ creator, Jane Stanton, provided everyone a taste of her
well reputed, imaginative chocolate truffles.

This was a very exciting start to the Eastern Southland Chamber
of Commerce’s ‘Behind the Scenes’ evenings.
