The sixth annual event to celebrate the graduation of the Southland trades persons was celebrated at the Invercargill workingmen’s club Thursday 4 November 2010.
||A large turnout of 420 people included 145 Family members and 70 employers along with the training providers and sponsors were present to celebrate the achievement.
The Chamber of Commerce presented a framed certificate to the 88 graduates present to represent the importance of the trades in the community.
The Chamber President Mr Dave Rohan was assisted by the Mayor Frana Cardno (Southland District) Mayor Tracy Hicks (Gore District) & Deputy Mayor Jackie Kruger (Invercargill) in presenting each certificate.
|Mayor Cardno opened the evening and along with M.C. Craig Wadell
welcomed the guests.
|The presentations started at 7:00 and were followed by the passionate guest speaker Shaun Quincey who described his historic epic 54 day solo row from Australia to New Zealand.
A buffet meal was spread throughout the evening with the event being closed by Mayor Hicks.
