Overview
Women’s increased participation in
paid work has been one of the strongest employment trends over the
last half century. In the paid workforce, 758,751 female employees
are working compared with 752,499 for male employees. Many of these
women working part time are looking after a child in the same
household. This short workshop will explain the Employment
arrangements that cater for the needs of women who want to work
part time, casual or flexible working time around commitments they
have outside of work. You will gain a broad understanding of the
options and variety of employment arrangements that are possible
under the existing employment legislation.

• Employment Relations Flexible Working Arrangement Act 2009
• Practical issues around how to achieve the best employment
arrangement whilst enhancing the employment relationship
• How to effectively manage flexible working arrangements
efficiently and what changes to their existing processes may be
necessary
• How best to manage Parental Leave to gain the maximum benefit for
both employers and employees
