Overview
The safety culture is determined by the values and priorities placed on all aspects of safety by everyone at every level of an organisation. Hazard identification, management strategies and the importance of setting an example to staff to maintain a safe workplace and the shared responsibilities managers, supervisors and all members of the workforce have to reduce accidents and incidents in any workplace.
Safety Culture is important because originations with a strong safety culture have less accidents and incidents, as everyone's behaviour is aligned towards the common goal of avoiding harm to people. It is widely recognised that employee behaviour is a significant contributory factor in a large proportion of accidents and incidents in any workplace.
