ATA Security, Deposit / Bond
Security Deposit/Bond
Security must be lodged with the Wellington Regional Chamber of
Commerce.
The security will be drawn upon to reimburse the Chamber in the
event it incurs a claim for sales tax/duty or any other costs in
connection with the issuance of your Carnet or its use.
Security will be returned in full once the original Carnet has been
completed properly and returned, and no claims or other costs are
anticipated by the Chamber.
The amount of the security deposit is based on the total value of
the goods, and varies according to the countries visited. Please
refer to the Security Rate
Chart
The minimum amount of security is $300 New Zealand Dollars.
You may lodge security in one of the following forms:
Cash Indemnity - This may be cash or a bank cheque
payable to 'Wellington Regional Chamber of Commerce' (Carnet
issuing fees and the cash indemnity must be on separate cheques).
For urgent Carnets, deposit by electronic funds transfer or credit
card is acceptable (please note there is an additional charge for
credit card transactions) - contact the Chamber for further
details.
Bank Indemnity - This is a written guarantee
between the Wellington Chamber and your bank.
