Certificate of Origin
A Certificate of Origin is a trade document that can be used to
satisfy a Government/customs dept and buyer that products are
wholly obtained or produced or manufactured in a certain country
this may even require a raw material breakdown by origin.
|
The Chambers of Commerce stamp trade documents, such as
Certificates of Origin, to certify that the exported goods are of
New Zealand origin.
The Chamber may stamp either the standard Certificate of Origin
form and or a certified Invoice form whereby the exporter declares
the goods are of New Zealand origin and the Chamber confirms that
the declaration is correct.

This allows Customs authorities in the importing country to
establish the applicable (usually preferential) tariff, ensure that
quota restrictions are not being breached, and collect statistical
data, this may also be required to meet the request of the overseas
importers who may also nead a Certificate of Origin for their own
purposes regardless of whether the document is required by the
relevant authorities.
Some documents (particularly exports to the Middle East) require
further legalisation by overseas Embassies, we can give you the
approate information and contacts.
