Hong Kong Shanghai Bank
Tuesday 20 June was a cold, wet and blustery night, but inside
the White Heron there was a small gathering of Sunny Southlanders
crowded around a hot glowing open fire enjoying a few drinks, hot
tasty nibbles and each others company.

Why were they there? They wanted to meet Colin Ross and Gerald Ryan
from HSBC and - learn more about this particular bank and the
benefits they can offer us. And that's just what happened!
Colin began his presentation at the banks beginnings - 1865 in Hong
Kong and Shanghai, taking us right through history, the ups and
downs and bringing us through to the present moment, explaining the
definite benefits of doing business with a worldwide bank.
With their Headquarters now in London, HSBC is one of the largest
banking and financial services organisations in the world, has
offices in 77 countries and serves around 110 million customers.
Their extensive range of financial services include personal and
commercial banking services, trade finance, treasury and financial
markets, and corporate finance. The night finished off with a great
prize draw where four lucky people took home smart looking black
polo shirts and an overnight bag, all branded with HBSC of course!
Thank you Colin and Gerald for coming to Southland and giving us
the opportunity to hear what the HSBC can do for us.
