
Distribution Criteria
HSBC Southland Export Trust Grants
The Trustees will meet annually to decide on the availability, value and opening date for the next applications.
They will publicly advertise the opening and closing dates, view applications and determine a successful applicant/s taking into consideration, but not limited to:.
- If the applicant has an established track record of success in domestic or export sectors
- The likelihood of success of the applicant’s project.
- The credibility of the principals of the applicant and its chosen advisors / consultant
Without limiting the purposes for which distributions are to be made, the Trust would favour those applications that intend to commit the distribution towards the following:
- Direct market research for new markets or new products in existing markets.
- Costs for meetings with consultants, which could include travel and accommodation.
- Developing marketing plans new markets or new products in existing markets.
- Developing or implementing strategies to enhance productivity or workforce development or conditions.
- To assist in training and knowledge, to up skill employees and personnel involved in the export sector.
The grant maybe applied for use in conjunction with other organisational grants, or for the engagement of consultants when applying for governmental grants or assistance.
OTHER:
- Grant requests must be for future spending, not for expenditure already incurred.
- If incorporating travel, applications must show the name/s of those involved.
- Grants will be for direct expenses not additional unforeseen expenses.
- Funds must be spent specifically for the purpose/s approved by the Trust.
- Payment will be made to the recipient on evidence of expenditure.
