Events and Membership support.
A position has become available in our team to
manage our events
calendar, and membership support program.
This is currently 30 hours per week. A degree of flexibility is
afforded.
The applicant must hold a drivers license and have a car available
for use.
Being computer literate in excel, access, publisher and word is an
advantage.
Responsibilities include servicing and expanding the existing
membership
base its activities and services and promoting the Chamber’s,
products
and services to the Southland business community.
The ideal applicant should have a background of business
related
development, strong interpersonal skills, be self motivated and
enjoy a challenge.

Membership and Events Manager:
September 2008.
Job Description overview:
This position currently requires 30 hours per week as
standard.
The position has an element of flexibility in hours and times:
Office hours are; 9:00am – 5:00pm Monday - Friday
Standard hours worked would normally be
8:00am 3:00pm Monday – Friday
Lunch break would normally be 12:00 noon – 1:00pm
The Membership and Events Manager will need to attend events
outside office hours and will need to be available for these.
Basic Elements:
Membership:
To obtain new members through networks, connection, and ‘cold
calls’
To call on existing members to maintain connections,
products, services and discount benefits
Newsletter:
To prepare with assistance, 11 monthly “Chamberlink’
newsletters.
Resource articles solicit advertising/sponsorship and arrange
printing and distribution.
Events:
To organise a consistent events program.
This consists of evening BA5, breakfast, lunch, company profile
events and other special events.
Guest Speaker events for members and public and as required,
coordinate plan or assist in awards and other special
events that may arise.
To coordinate and promote training between Employers
Association, and Chamber programs.
Other:
Assist with office inquiries including the Biz Information
program
The Applicant must
be self motivated, comfortable with working at all levels of the
business community have a vehicle available for work use and hold a
current driving license.
